My buddy Mike and I hopped in the Jeep today to go check out a favorite mule deer hunting area. I can't say I was surprised... But it was really a little early to find all this WHITE STUFF in my hunting area!

And we actually found quite a few tracks, and a few mule deer, once the sun broke through the clouds.

It was a good day in the hills!

Thanks for the photos Guy, there is some real beautiful country up there.
Good luck on your upcoming Mule Deer Hunt, more photos with a good story(PRICELESS).

Blessings,
Dan

It is good to see some of the white stuff, even if it is quite a ways south of here. Great pictures, Guy. Hey, that is quite a curious mulie doe eying you.

Thanks! We saw only one buck, a young fellow with little spike antlers. Pretty cool though.

It will be interesting to see how this snow affects our mule deer season, which is Oct 12 - 20th. The big guys can just shrug off a light snow and stay high, but when the snow starts piling up, they come down out of the high Cascades into lower areas like this that are easier for hunters to access.

If the snow keeps coming, we may have a pretty productive season!

WOW! Talk about exciting! I just paid for my plane ticket to Portland yesterday, in order to meet up with Bill for our 2-9 November elk hunt.. Man, if I could hunt on snow, with my 338, after elk.. Well, Bill might have a hard time pulling me outta the mountains! I can't imagine tracking elk, on snow and then taking one. It is very exciting stuff! Awesome pictures Guy! Thank you for the pick me up.

Man I love your posts with the pictures Guy. Good luck.

Thanks, those are cell-phone photos. Amazing the quality of camera they're building into phones these days.

I'm hoping that the snow up high might just push some of the big bucks down from the mountains a little early this year, and improve our regular October mule deer season.

We'll see...

Great pictures Guy. I'm heading out to Oak Creek, Colorado sunday morning and there's snow in the forecast for this weekend. Hunting in the white stuff (as long as it's not too deep) is what I think hunting is all about. Tracking and spotting animals is great.

Looks nice Guy.

Still 90 degrees here in Big D and I'm about sick of it.
COME ON NOVEMBER !!!!

It looked like a great day, guy, I am on the countdown to the Oct 15th elk opener, in Wyoming. Weather is looking good there also. Great pictures. thanks.
