So much for the .25-06 being next...

Or you can get a nice #1 35 whelen .......disguised as #1B in 338 win mag!

Close enough!

Very nice. I was a .25 Whelen admirer before becoming a .35 Whelen admirer, but like you acquired the .35 first. I think you'll love that rifle!

Hard to beat the 225 gr AccuBond when it come to an all around load. Back when the 225 gr Ballistic Tip was still around I had real good success with 53.5 gr AA 2015 and the same load was very accurate with the 225 gr Partitions. Speeds were chonographed at 2718 and 2713 respectively. As is well known here, my favorite load now is 60 gr Varget with the 225 gr AccuBond my notes say it is going 2763fps.

That sounds like an AWESOME load Gerry! Man, I know if RL15 doesn't work, I know where I am headed next...

I had just recently managed to convince myself that I could make it through 2012 without buying another rifle.

That sounds like a completely miserable year!

Very nice No. 1. I have a few myself, but no 35W. I have quite a few 25/06s though, its my favorite cartridge.

Thanks, guys.

Well, Guy, since I already "ruined" your year:

It could use a refinishing job on the stock, but it's got a pretty nice piece of wood.

Congrats on a great cartridge/rifle combo and one that is a beaut as well!

I joined the #1 club last year with the one below, a .280 Rem. The previous owner had it nickel plated and had a Moyer trigger installed. The scope is a Burris Fullfield II 3-9x with Ballistic Plex reticle. Haven't hit a clay pigeon on the 600-yard berm with it yet, but I dance all around them with near misses. :)

Oh my one of those #1B's in 280 Remington, and then you just willy nilly throw it up here for all of us to drool on. Thanks a bunch!

By the way ROVERT...

Thanks a lot. I had just recently managed to convince myself that I could make it through 2012 without buying another rifle. Ya bum... Now I've got an intense case of Number One fever... Drat.

After looking at the photos of your .35 Whelen, I can find all sorts of ways to justify a new .30-06 Number One... Doggone it!
Guy

Top rifle in photo- #1B 30-06 Guy!!
