Back when the 225 gr Ballistic Tip was still around I had real good success with 53.5 gr AA 2015 and the same load was very accurate with the 225 gr Partitions. Speeds were chonographed at 2718 and 2713 respectively. As is well known here, my favorite load now is 60 gr Varget with the 225 gr AccuBond my notes say it is going 2763fps.

That sounds like a completely miserable year!

I joined the #1 club last year with the one below, a .280 Rem. The previous owner had it nickel plated and had a Moyer trigger installed. The scope is a Burris Fullfield II 3-9x with Ballistic Plex reticle. Haven't hit a clay pigeon on the 600-yard berm with it yet, but I dance all around them with near misses.

Thanks a lot. I had just recently managed to convince myself that I could make it through 2012 without buying another rifle. Ya bum... Now I've got an intense case of Number One fever... Drat.
After looking at the photos of your .35 Whelen, I can find all sorts of ways to justify a new .30-06 Number One... Doggone it!
