Wasn't going to Wyoming in 2015... Nope, just stay in Washington and hunt local. Which is indeed a lot of fun...

But I've got to admit that the prairie, the pronghorn and the mulies are calling me... I do love that hunt!

That is not a bad antelope buck Guy . If that photo is from your neck of the woods I don't think I could call them a Prairie Goat !!

Blessings,
Dan

Super pictures, Guy. Perhaps you will resist the temptation, but you are certainly tempting others by posting such great pictures.

Hunting local is fun, but man, you seem like you have a great time just getting to your hunting grounds Guy..

We are applying to WY antelope again this year. Hoping we can draw so that my fearless guide can put Sue on a nice speed goat.

That looks like a lot of fun Guy.

Tent camping next to the truck with the stars to light the way.... priceless.

Stop it Guy! it gets in your blood.... worse than that in my case. Nice pics. Are they from last year? CL

I love this sign.
It let's me know I'm in God's country.

Yup. Those were taken October 2014 on my mule deer & pronghorn hunt.

I do think I'm staying in Washington this year... But dang, I like that Wyoming stuff...

And yes, I do have a BLAST on the road trip there, fishing, camping and sight-seeing in Washington, Idaho, Montana and Wyoming!

I would love to go to Alberta one day and go after a pronghorn.

Lots of Alberta boys head south to Wyoming aswell. I think I'm on year 8-9 waiting for a tag I hear it can be a 10-12 year wait. Depending on zone.
I guess if you hunt with an outfitter your garanteed a tag , if you want a do it yourself hunt you better start applying now.
Great pics as ussual Guy! I defintly think Wyoming is beckoning you!!

I truly believe that Washington State provides one with one of the most diverse recreational opportunities in the west. Where else can you go from sea level to over 14,000 feet in 50 miles. We have the only true boreal forest in the Continental US, and millions of acres of arid desert lands. On one side of the state we can get well over 100 inches of rain annually, other areas struggle for 15 inches. It's truly a remarkable piece of the planet.
If the hunting opportunities only matched, the real estate, I would never feel the need to hunt elsewhere. A great place to live, a mediocre place to hunt.

Guy I do not think that 260 AccuBond load in your 375 H&H Ruger #1H can take down a goat! Do not try to sway me.
You need to prove me wrong

Guy, you could just take the wife to see Yellowstone, or try to catch some fish out of the North Platte River near Saratoga, see the Saratoga hot springs, stay at the bed and breakfast/hotel at Elk Mountain WY...I miss living in Wyoming!

While packing for October's hunting trip to Wyoming... I nearly grabbed the .375 Number One and a box of 260 Accubonds. Just for the heck of it...

Looking back, the 160 yard shot on the pronghorn would have been no problem.

The 340 yard shot on the mule deer would be farther than I normally shoot the .375... But I've made 320 on game with it before...

Still, taking the .375 was just playful thinking. For me, none of my rifles say "pronghorn" like the .25-06, and once again, I was glad to take it.

We have enjoyed several family vacations to Wyoming over the years, a couple of times to Yellowstone, and several times nearby. Have dear friends who live near Cody, giving me a GREAT excuse to take in the awesome museum there.

We do like our "western" vacations in Idaho, Montana and Wyoming! (y)
