Solid Baser Boat Tail Non-Ballistic Tip

The new BT “ hunting” will solve any concerns you have with penetration, give better expansion and energy dump than a Partition, and better precision to boot, with better BC.. I have killed plenty with 100grs at 3500+,and 115 grs at 3350+.
I shot a LOT of the old ones, so I understand exactly what you mean.
If you have to have 2 holes every time, the 110AB is an over- achiever launched at 3400+.
I’m telling my velocity so you see they will hold up, being run harder than the Bob AI.
72gr case capacity 25 Sherman Short and 25 Sherman L/A. Long barrels and double based powder.
If they would just come on with the 125gr ABLR!

I have many rounds of both 150 grain Ballistic Tips, as well as Solid Base Boat Tails. This year I will be hunting where deeper penetrating bullets will be needed. Which of the two do you think will give more reliable and deeper penetration? Thanks

What caliber and velocity are you getting with these bullets? Also, what are you planning on hunting "where deeper penetration is needed"

highoctane,
the rifle is a 7mm SAUM, muzzle velocity of 3050 fps. I will be hunting mule deer country instead of our much smaller east texas whitetails.

The 150 gr 7mm Ballistic Tip is one tough bullet. I have some experience with the Solid Base bullets, but I have 25 yrs or more experience with the Ballistic Tip and most of that is with the 7mm 150gr BT, so personally, I would tackle any deer species in North America with the BT.

Good Luck
