So true for all of us. All in good fun. I enjoy the repartee, even when I get scorched.

Nope, we were discussing jack handles. Consequently, it's about time you showed up!

I hear the Weatherby's make some pristine jack handles though. Probably the best of the bunch. I hear those Vanguards are a great entry level jack handle as well..

I once saw a fellow with a busted hand and black eye. Asked him what happened, and he started explaining how he had a flat, and needed a jack handle. He had an old Winchester rifle that was in the gun rack (never been anywhere else) so he tried it, in desperation. the barrel broke clean off of the action, causing his hand to slam down into the concrete, which in turn caused the stock to splinter and the largest chunk of buttstock whacked him in the eye. I asked him what happened to his truck, and he said some dude with a Weatherby stopped to help, and was able to shoot all the lugnuts loose with one shot, then ricochet a bullet from the pavement up under the frame, lifting the truck enough to change out the tire before it fell back down. Apparently one more shot got all the lugnuts tight again, and the fellow was about to go on his way, when this injured gent asked him where he'd come from. Fellow said, "I was deer hunting. Got one in the bed of the truck, and was wondering what I'd do with these other three rounds. Lucky I found you or I'd have had to disappoint my rifle by unloading it without firing."

Wonder if the hunter was wearing a pair of these?

The Winchester FW in 6,5x55 sold over here in the early 90s. The guns Winchester sold
overhere at that time actually had a genuine nice piece of wood.

Now, this is getting good. Slow work day?

I'm working remotely this week, from the beach town of Port St. Joe, FL. The family and I are staying at my cousin's house down here, so I guess the salt air and sound of the wind and waves across the bay is bringing a little levity to my work week. Happy to entertain!

Dubyam, if I could get out of the cold drizzle here in March, I would dance a jig, white shoes and all!

Mine is a late New Haven. Picked it up last summer for far less than $1800.

The factory really screwed up on the stock on that one, Jake. They let it go without looking carefully at what went out the door. There is great character in the wood. Very handsome.

Jake, was that one of the premium Featherweight's that Winchester made a few years ago? The wood is awfully nice for a standard grade.

That's what I was talking about

Is the 6,5x55 Swedish an attractive cartridge among hunters/shooters
in the US?.

No, it isn't, that is why this one is worth so much money. The cartridge is great, don't misunderstand me but is not popular here probably because we have the .260 Rem as a factory cartridge which is a 6.5-308. I am the only person that I know who owns one (CZ500 Carbine) and mine is now in the custody of my oldest son.

I have no idea. But when I saw this one on GB I knew I had to have it as I was kinda looking for a 257 but this fell in my lap and I knew it was a pretty rare chambering. If i would of had an extra $800 laying around I would have bought the guys matching 280 as well wood wasn't quite as nice but still above and beyond your standard FW. Plus when I ran numbers loaded properly it is way underrated. A 140 at 2900-2950 is serious business plus they had a sale on brass at the same time!

Jake, I had a CZ 500 in 6.5x55. My oldest son saw it and it was gone so fast I almost missed it leaving! It is a great caliber. My son and his stepson have killed game with it and with stiff loads and 125 grain Partitions at 3000+, it is a stone killer.
