That is a nice rifle! There was one like it, but in 6.5 Creedmoor, here in town. I really wanted it, but for the life of me couldn't figure out what it would do that I can't do with my .25-06... So, it stayed at the shop long enough for someone else to snap it up.

Those mild 6.5's are very cool cartridges, and the Hawkeye is a mighty nice rifle.

It delivers excellent accuracy for me. My Model 70 chambered in .280 was no slouch in the accuracy department. This one delivers both accuracy and velocity.

I am not resisting all that much Mike. Just trying to support my hunting habit. If I didn't have an elk hunt to pay for, I am pretty sure I would have both the M71 and M70 325 in the safe by now!

Besides, I don't want Gene to get them 220's too much before I have the ability to shoot them too! :lol:
