You guys ever ran any of these in your 416's? I just happened to be down at my local reloading store, and saw them on the shelf, marked for 10.00. Figured I could get Jim to put one into the jugs for us with his 416 WBY!

I don't have much experience with the bullets, but my old man did take a brown bear with my 338 Win Mag and the 225 Trophy Bonded Bear Claws. Recovered one of them as well, and it was perfect. Awesome heavy game bullets for sure, just not alot of trigger time with them myself. I do think I have some still in Federal factory ammo, might be able to sneak one of them into the jugs myself...

Anyhow, I will try to push them off to Jim. Hopefully he can show us how it's done!

That is a steal. I used a lot of TBBC in my 7RM over the years. They always performed very well for me. The largest black bear I ever shot dropped to the shot with a 175 grain TBBC. That particular bullet accounted for quite a few mule deer, elk and moose, as well. That particular calibre would be a real hammer from something like that 416 WBY.

Thanks Scotty.

I will do the deed. :)
I recovered a 400 gr PT yesterday from jugs and dirt.
The big bullet went through 8. opened the side of the 9th and was recovered in several inches of soil.

Nice! I was wondering when we'd start seeing some .416 bullet tests.

Scotty, that's a great deal. You saved enough right there to fund your very own .416 rifle...

I'd recommend the Rigby, in a custom Mauser. Might as well go all out...

Guy

I plan on shooting a crop damage deer this summer with the Speer 350 gr Mag Tip out of the big 416 Wby.
If I can get 10 deer lined up just right, maybe I'll be able to recover the bullet. :)

HA! Don't think it didn't cross my mind Mr. Miner...

Jim, that is some serious penetration though Jim. Be cool to see what these TBBC's do as well. They were supposed to be awesome performers back in the day.

That is a steal for $10. I shot one black bear with the 225 gr version in 35 Whelen, it did the job nicely. Looking forward to seeing those 416 bullet tests, should be very interesting. The 350 gr Mag Tip has a good reputation of being an inexpensive bullet that performs well. That big 400 gr Partition looks very impressive.

I've shot quite a few deer with the 350gr MagTips in my .416 Rem. Jim. They get the job done. I even shot one close to 500yds (I think it was 485yds but I can't remember for certain). Every one dropped on the spot.

Thanks Nathan

Should be fun.

Man, $10 for those bullets is a steal! They are in the old Speer boxes when Speer was marketing for them although, I don't think that will much matter in the .416. I killed one medium bull elk with a 180 grain TBBC in a .300 H&H, at about 2950 FPS, at about 150 yards and I never found the bullet but the elk was DRT.

I quit buying when Speer began to market as the prices were excessive compared to what I had paid Jack Carter for TBBC bullets. Previously, I ordered them from Houston.

Mike, from all I have read and seen around here and heard about from others, the TBBC is one serious bullet. Too bad you can't hardly find them anymore. Ah well, I guess we'll have to get by with Swift's, Northforks and PT's!

Yup! I'm hard done by. Now, elk can take two steps rather than one when I shoot them.

10 bux? I would shoot another antelope with those just for fun!
