Any good tips for a spring bear hunt in Idaho?

Don't know much (anything?) about bear behavior in the spring. Sort of figure they're likely to be eating a lot... Otherwise???

Looking at a trip this coming spring. Something to do with my .300 RUM!

Depending on how early in the spring you are going,They will either be lounging around eating grass to get thier metabolism ramped up,Or they will be on the prowl for females. This is the best time to hunt bears.I'd like to be able to hunt for spring bear in my neck of the woods, but there aren't any seasons,ot special draws for it.Don't know why, there are a lot of bears just up river from my house. But the season dosn't open 'till August 1st.
