staBALL match powder

Will Nosler up date reloading data for StaBall powders? looking for load data 165 B.T for the .308 Winchester.
Possibly but not for 5 years or so.

This industry is driven by what "the other guy " is doing.

There have been a slew of new bullets released in a small window of time. RDF style bullets are everywhere now...
Bullet driven data takes precedent and always will. Bullets get data first and many times it's simply the old guard (w760), Imr3031 tyoe) as example to people up and running with "their new bullet"

That said I can give you a direction to get the answer you desire.
Call Hodgdon and tell them the data you seek.
Powder and bullet.
You will first hear they dont have it listed but you will get a very educated and safe data window from their testing of comparable with that powder.

Let me know if you have trouble perhaps I can help further.

Good luck

It’s not Rocket Science. If you take the H2O capacity, a given bullet weight by caliber, the overall length of the barrel and which type of powder are you planning on using. You might know how it performs in other rifles you’ve tested and look at the data. BL-C2 is a prime example, super fast speeds, same for Reloader Powders, or the slow ones, H4831.

It’s not that difficult to make an educated guess and work up a known cartridge that already has data you can find, and average it out. Then use a percentage of the amount you think it is by water capacity and you’ll get really close to what the expected velocity.

Is it really any different than when you look at a reloading manual and it doesn’t list your bullet, or the powder you wish to use? You just need to stay with an expected velocity for given bullet weight and the length of your barrel. That’s been going on for decades.

This should get you in the ballpark. Copied from Hodgdon's Online Data Center.

I've only used a little StaBALL Match, but it performed well from the 6.5 Creed. Haven't tried it yet in the 308 Win. I'd anticipate that it should work quite well.
