Thanks guys for all your tips on stock paint and where to get scope mounts. Its hard to tell, but the stock is painted with a tri-color desert tan paint. Mounted with a weaver base and burris X mounts sits the Sightron SII (thanks pop). I already have test loads made up using Nosler 180gr AB's, RL-25, and FED 215's. Shown before and now!

Thanks it shot pretty good with factory ammo. I'm hoping to make an elk, moose, or caribou hammer outta it!

SE

Looks great. Congratulations on a nice job.

I kniow I hate plain black synthetic stocks. This weatherby has a good synthetic on it though. Not a cheap one like some of the other companies use. I'm happy with it

Yours looks really good SE. Looking forward to seeing how yours shoots with your loads. Scotty

That stock looks FANTASTIC :!: I might have to give some thought to painting my tupperware

That looks really good!

I'm thinking about trying to paint one of my SPS castoff stocks, but it ain't gonna look like that if I do... imagine one of Eddie Van Halen's guitars from the '80s or '90s. (Shamefully stolen from a thread on 24HCF).

That is pretty neat Kurt. Very wild colors.. Probably be perfect for those Fall hunts with all the leaves turning!!! Scotty

Yeah, it'd blend right in with Eastern Oregon sagebrush, wouldn't it?

Bk,
I don't know if I would waste my time and money by painting a SPS stock. they are just plain junk. I painted the Weatherby stock because it is way better quality than a rem synthetics. Just my thoughts.

That's exactly why I would paint an SPS stock... if I goober it up, it's no real loss.

Of course, I do have a Weatherby Vanguard .223 in a synthetic stock, if my screwing around turns out halfway decent...

That is a nice paint job. What spray did you use?

PS we need a range report!
