I was doing some plinking the other day and decided to get out my 10-22 for some cheap fun. I never noticed before how dreadfully heavy the trigger pull is on this gun. Does anyone have any experience fixing this problem? Are there drop in options available? Any real world experiences would be appreciated.

There was a discussion last Saturday at the shop regarding the Timney drop in for the 10/22.
2 or 3 guys stated that they have done the change over & really like the Timney. Changes the whole rifle

Blessings,
Dan

There's a near drop-in fit "target hammer and sear" set you can buy. Or at least, you could buy it 20yrs ago. I think it was made by Power Custom? It worked wonders on my buddy's 10-22 trigger. Went from horrible to pretty darn good.

Volquartsen has a pile of 10-22 parts. I've used their triggers on Ruger Mk IIs on was very satisfied.

My last build used Power Custom, excellent trigger for ~$35, compared to a custom job that cost me over $100, its better.

Man they don't give those away! Paid less than that for the whole rifle! I'm sure they are great but I need to lean toward something a little easier on my wallet

I have done several trigger jobs on Ruger 10/22's following the instructions at:

http://www.rimfirecentral.com/forums/sh ... p?t=251177

http://www.rimfirecentral.com/forums/sh ... s+hungwell

I have also done several using drop in parts. I have used the Volquartsen Target Hammer and the Power Custom Target Hammer. Of the two I much prefer the Power Custom. Both are available from several sources on the net.

Recently for the new Ruger 10/22's with the Polymer Trigger Housing I have been using the KIDD Drop in Trigger Kits.

http://www.coolguyguns.com/Ruger-1022-t ... _p_95.html

I have used these kits on 3 10/22's now and in my opinion if you want a really good trigger for the least investment go with the KIDD Drop in Trigger Kit.

If you snoop around over on Rimfire Central you will find a few different companies doing trigger jobs in which you send them your trigger group and they do a trigger job. One is Brimstone of which I have read good things about. There are others as well. I have sent a few to TT Shooter and have been satisfied with his work.

Thanks for the link Fotis! I searched and found the drop in assembly that was priced $279. This is much more reasonable.
