Now, JD, if a rifle doesn't have a few souvenirs on the stock and the metal, it has scant value. Rifles are built to be carried. Of course, I'd shed a tear at the first scratch. Actually, I had my 30-06 only a couple of days when it got its first ding in the stock. I had to call on a friend who is a stock maker to do some repairs.
