I've found an H4895 load that works great for BT's; it's listed as a max, but shows zero pressure signs (XP-100 handgun, Lapua brass) and is very accurate. The OAL is 2.83, which is a bit over spec. I didn't realize the AB's are a bit longer than the BT's (1.308 vs 1.290). I think if I load to the same OAL the bullet base will be contacting the powder, and I don't want to have a compressed load. Is the shape of the AB such that if I load it so the base of the bullet is the same place within the brass, the bullet won't be contacting any closer to the lands than the BT?
I'd like to avoid having to start from scratch on load development, but if I can't safely swap the two, I'll back off and work my way up.
