These guys are great. I've made an effort to help out the Fish & Wildlife guys whenever I can, and to always be polite & friendly. Today I went to the local office to clarify one part of the boundary for my special mule deer tag. Got that done, then was treated to a nice talk with the WDFW biologist for the area, who had some good recommendations for my November mule deer hunt.

He knows it's an important hunt to me, took nine years of applying to draw the tag. He wants hunters to be successful. Am very grateful for the info.

Also while I was there, I met a bow hunter who had just taken a really, really nice bighorn ram. It was in the back of his truck, all the quarters and the head. We guessed it to be nine or ten years old, the biologist was looking harder at it. What a great ram! And with a bow...

At any rate, there's usually something good happening at the local Fish & Wildlife office - and it's a good place to get familiar with. At least I think so.

Best of luck to all of you who are still hunting!

Regards, Guy

That's good to hear, Guy. I know our local Conservation Officers are good people that work hard to assist the public and manage the resource.

I have found that the majority of Fish and Game officials are happy to be of service to the public. I have never had any grief with any of them!

Swakane. It was my second choice, but convenient as I live at the edge of that area, in Wenatchee. Also hunt there a lot during regular season, so I'm familiar with the area and what few "patterns" the bucks occasionally drift into.

I figure on camping for a few nights at a time, then coming back home to shower, rest up, resupply and hit it again. Should work out well. Who knows? Maybe I'll find a big ol' buck on the first day!

I don't intend to pass up many decent bucks, looking for a Boone & Crockett set of antlers... I'll happily settle for less than that. Any good, mature buck will do. I'm just glad to finally draw the tag and get to hunt that area in November!

Very cool that you got to see that. I know the local warden and he is a good honest guy. Because of him, I have seen some interesting things that I would have never been able to see. They are good people trying to protect and what we love, nature.

Well good luck Guy, great tag! I had the Chewuch tag in 09. it sure is fun to hunt in Nov. I go up every Nov. to the cabin to look for the big guys and find that the last 10 days are better than the first 10, that being said you can still run into the king of the hill on the first day out in Nov. Enjoy

I've had the same experience with the folks at Montana FWP and the forest service people for the Flathead NF and the Lewis and Clark NF too. Great bunch of people!!
