About ten years ago, I was hunting in Arizona's area 1. The state had blessed me with a cow tag. I was at the edge of one of the very wide open "parks" where the elk like to hang out as they can see a hunter from a very long way off. I watched a herd of elk as they walked though the middle of the parkl and tried s stalk The bull leading that parade was huge. Probably the largest antlered elk I've ever seen. And me with a cow tag. Frustration ruled high that day although I did take the last cow in that parade. I don't know if that bull would have made the book but I know darn well it would have been close.
