I hope all of you get a chuckle out of the following true story.
One Shot Kill
As difficult as it may be for you to believe, the following story is completely true. You will see that it’s just too wacky to be anything but the truth.
On September 11th of 2005, (My friend Bill’s birthday) the incredible “One Shot Kill” took place.
Bill and I went to Larch Mountain here in Clark County in Southern Washington State to shoot and sight-in our 22 rifles.
There was no wind on this gorgeous day as we set up some targets.
The scope mount on my 30-year-old Ruger 10-22 had come loose so after the repair and scope remount it was time to get this great gun re-sighted.
There was a chest high iron gate across the road at our shooting spot that made for an excellent shooting rest for the guns. Bill sat the target at about 23 yards from the gate. I loaded the 10 shot magazine with CCI Hollow Point Mini Mags.
Bill was spotting with his binoculars as I began shooting.
After my 6th shot, Bill said, “Gary, can you see that “Honey Bee” that’s sitting on the target, 6 inches directly below the target bullseye”?? I said, “Yes, I can”
I put the crosshairs of my Tasco scope on that HoneyBee, and pulled the trigger.
Bill yelled, “YOU GOT HIM, YOU GOT HIM”, “There’s nothing but blood left on the target”
Neither of us could believe it, But the blood spot confirmed it.
Bill says it was a great shot. I say, “I was just lucky”
I scanned the target and hope you’ll get as much of a chuckle out of this as Bill and I did.

Here's the other fun part of this story.
I sent a copy (via email) to Ruger, CCI, and Tasco.
You wouldn't believe the box of goodies I got from Ruger. CCI sent me a very nice letter and a couple patches, and Tasco sent a short email response.
Shooting is something we enjoy.......share those experiences whenever you can.
