So once again I am doing some upgrading, swapping out or replacing.

Since the 25-06 left and so did the 264 mag and the 356 timber gun, I thought long and hard what to replace them with.

So Meet the new battery:

Ruger #1 6mm with 4x12x40mm AO Leupy-- all around goat gun

6mm1.jpg

New in Box Remington Sendero I 7mm rem Ultra Magnum with 6.5x20x50mm Vortex Viper--Long range
160 AB or 168 VLD at 3300 fps

For the timber/hog gun..... A new in Box (talk about luck!) 1985 Remington Classic in 350 Rem Mag with Burris Euro diamond 1.5-6x 40mm and 30mm tube. #4 German reticle. Great light transmission.

BTW from what I have seen and what I have read the Viper is an incredible scope. Clear as a bell and great light!

Very nice.

Wow, three guns at the same time, there isn't enough hours in a day :p

Fotis,

Nice battery! You have NA covered!
Great find with the M700 Classic 350 Rem Mag! The 225 gr PT will be a great hog hammer.

I have some 200 gr TSX's on hand for that 350 Mag. Barnes has gotten 2950 fps with ramshot TAC. Super
flat and penetrates like a 250 gr. If they do not work then the 225 NP is next.

The 6mm will get the 85 gr NP 100 gr NP and 95 gr BT. One has got to work.

The 7mm rum will get the 160 AB or the 168 VLD. whatever she likes.
By the way that viper scope rocks!

About 94 grains.....

Wow, some great cartridges and some great rifles. FWIW, I've recently shot several Senderos, and each shot far better than they should have. There is still some quality in those rifles. And what else can be said about finding the classic 350 RM. Great buy!

I will fix that!

Nice rifles there Pop. I take it you like the Euro Burris scope? Does it have larger tubes? How does it compare to the Vortex. I just found out I can get a very good deal on any Burris scope I want but before that I had been considering trying a Vortex scope. Which do you like better?

Corey.

The 7mm RUM with 140 A/Bs work real well on prarie goats  The 160's take care of deer real nicely. That's a beautiful Sendero for sure. Quite a nice haul. Were you watching these when you sold the others or did they come along after the fact? They're a classy lot.

The euro was on sale (like $200 off on ebay from SWFA). They are clear as a bell and very robust. They let in an incredible amount of light. Love the German #4 reticle.

I looked long and hard on the Vortex Viper. If you go here there is a ton of information. http://www.opticstalk.com/forums.html
I have not heard anything bad about them. Extremely clear, track remarkably well and their guarantee rivals Leupold. I love the spring loaded turrets for re-zeroing too. Zero your scope, Lift, twist to zero and the spring pulls turret down. We will see.

I was playing the scenarios in my mind to see where it would take me. Then I saw these and jumped on them.

So the whole battery consist of

REM 700 FS 7MM REM MAG-------------Very Light mountain gun
Rem 700 Sendero 7mm RUM-------------LR
Marlin 30-30---------------------------who knows
REM AWR 300 RUM---------------------Very Light mountain gun
Rem 700 350 RM Classic-----------------Brush
WBY 416 WM----------------------------I do not know?
Ruger 1H 458 Lott----------------------Walking Dead invasion?

The varmint side is cluttered too!

204 IV
22 lr
223
22-250
17 HMR
22mag

Which one of them all?

POP, that is one impressive collection! Let me know how the vortex works out for you I'm thinking of putting one on my new project for LR shooting. They have a few around here that I can get my hands on.

Cameraland has a few on clearance.

Very nice bunch of rifles. That 350RM is a very cool one! What did you do with your Kool Blue 6mm? Anyhow, looking forward to hearing about how these all shoot. That Sendero in the 7RUM has to be awesome! Scotty

Am particularly fond of that 6mm Rem/Ruger Number One - beautiful rifle in a great cartridge.

Cool looking gun prop you've got holding it up too!
