I dropped all the components for the 28Nosler build off at the smith yesterday. He said he have her done in 3-4 weeks. Time to prep brass and buy the rail for it. I came home and mailed my M70 Supergrade to Classic Barrel Works in Prescott AZ. for a rebore to 35Whelen and installation of a NECG front sight in a high polish blue to match the rest of the finish. The Whelen will be a 4month wait. I think it will be worth the wait.

Nice! That's going to be sweet when you get that Whelen back. The word picture on it sounds good!

Interested to see what you do with the 28 Noz... What action did you use?

The recipe for the 28Nosler:

Winchester M70 Magnum action(previously chambered for 300RUM)
Benchmark #6 fluted, 1in 8 twist cut to 26". Barrel will be .720 at muzzle.
Barrel threaded 5/8"x24 for Brake/suppressor.
Brake- .875" 4 port by Nathan. Thread protector by Curt Mendenhall(gunsmith)
Stocks- I have two already bedded to the action. A wood Winchester magnum express stock and a McMillan M40 lightweight stock.
Stock bottom metal and trigger(old style that I've already stoned and polished at 2lbs 12oz.
Farrell FG Force 20moa rail for the scope.
Scope - TBD
The barrel will be throated to shoot 175ABLRs and 180 Bergers at 3.6". If anything longer needs to be shot I'll add a Wyatts 3.9" box.
Finished weight I'm hoping to be around 9.5lbs
It should shoot the 175ABLRs at 3150fps
A long range hammer.
