well no storys to tell about those long shots I like to take. seems the deer are just attracted to me this year. Have not saw a buck farther than 390 yards. the spot I have been hunting has offered shots in the past from 425 to over 775 yards, but 90% of the deer I've saw here are in the open, not sure if its lack of mast crops, but don't think thats it.
anyway here is a pic from my perch so to speak

So no tales about how many MOA I had to adjust for elevation, or how much windage was required.
The 15th buck I saw and it was my second look at him was taken with your typical "put the X on him and shoot" type of shot at 307 yards, not a huge one but a typical example of a mature whitetail for this area, he's a 4.5 yo 7 point

he was just in the edje of the cedars in the lower part of the pic, the AccuBond at 3575 fps is impressive it was a bang/flop of biblical proportions.
still have doe season coming so maybe will have a story to tell yet.

Pop,
its my APS 7mm Allen Mag
a LH 700 with the kirby joo-joo, a 30" 9 twist lilja sets in a pillared and glassed richards thumhole varminter, has ken ferrel 20 moa bases, burris XTR rings, and a loopy 6.5x20x50 mark 4 M1/TMR
other goodies include a badger lug, and extractor, a badger DBM, and holland brake.
a 300 yard shot is almost not fair, this rifle prints 5" groups at 830 yards with a 160 AccuBond at almost 3600 fps.

Ridge runner,
I'm from eastern Ky and that pic makes me home sick!
