Idaho was a excersize in patience this year. Lots of does in our first spot and too many elk in the second. The elk kept busting the big bucks out of their beds when ever we tried to sneak up on them. We saw 3 to 7 bulls and bunches of elk every day. I actually ended up frozen for an hour in the middle of a herd of elk so not to spook them untill they fed off. A nice 5x5 and a big spike with 14 cows. So we bought tags for opening day and sure enough people,(NOISY) people showd up and spooked them all down the mountain. We only had the one day to hunt elk because we hadn't planned days to hunt them. I've never been within 30 yards of a bull elk before but it was a daily event for a while. We caught a lot of catch and release trout and Jonathan caught a 25+" Bull trout and a sockeye salmon. It was a great trip! We saw no wolves this time.
