I know a couple companies sell these ,but I wanted them quick . I thought this might help you guys . I got in an area that I wanted to place a few cameras , but the trees are all leaning hard , or bent and twisted , making it very hard to get the camera pointed the way I wanted . I'm guessing when the trees were small a piece of equipment ran them over . this mount will also work well on trees that are too big for the camera strap to fit around . I bought a few things at the local hardware store and made three mounts . I have about $7.50 each invested in them . I used a stainless steel bolt , and black coated eyes , to help fight rust . the screw eye might be a little long , but I wanted to be able to tip the camera top towards the tree , or turn the camera on the bolt , if needed . I put the camera up in my field for a couple days to be sure it didn't slip . seems to be doing the job . I did hold the bolt with a wrench to tighten the wing nut .
keep in mind , with the camera sticking out away from the tree they don't blend in as well as when they are strapped to the tree.
I used for each mount ;
1) screw eye
1) eye bolt
1)1/4x1 ss bolt
3) flat washers
2) wing nuts
