Greetings fellow patriots. I have decided to try this process on an AR and was wondering what effect this may have on my dies? I have the Dillon progressive setup with carbide dies and I do not want to mess them up as they not cheap. Should I go back to the single stage and use an old set of RCBS non carbide dies to prevent undue wear on the carbide? There are fifty bullets {treated with compound} and just want to not place excessive on wear existing setup. With all the knowledge here somebody's faced this situation before. Everything I read about this process is good, just a bit time consuming is all. Thanks in advance. Newysan Don't trust a government that does not trust you to own a gun.

I've used them before, and just loaded them like normal bullets. I only have a single stage press, however.

If you were worried you could load them and then clean the dies with some degreaser or just que tips.

I did see an accuracy improvement, and I would recommend the process on any factory barrel.

Hmmm. Never thought about those bullets affecting my seating die. Interesting thought.

I did see some improvement in a 7mm Rem mag Sendero that I used the Tubbs bullets on. Good reduction in copper fouling. Accuracy didn't change much, it was already excellent.

Greetings. A little update. The very first thing I noticed was about round number thirty was the effort to push the cleaning rod through was reduced noticeably and by the time number fifty went down the tube it was like pushing the rod down a glass tube. Literally half the effort needed. So I am thinking this has to be good. Today the test fire proved the point, groups went from 3 inched down to one and a quarter inches with several touching. Wind was playing a little havoc but none the less I am very pleased. For the money spent this has to be the best improvement value I have run across yet. Granted, the two stage trigger was a big improvement, but it cost a LOT more. Cleaning showed no copper after 25 rounds. Highly recommend this product. The only drawback being there are a lot more rifles in the safe that I now know need this process. My kind of problem. Be safe. Newysan

Thanks for the update. I know the Tubbs Final Bore Finish can be a real bonus to some rifles, and it sounds as if that is the case for your first rifle.

Glad it worked out well for you. I've no trouble using it in a rough bore, but couldn't bring myself to use it to "break in" one of my Krieger barrels.

They don't usually need much break in anyway.

Probably should have used the Tubbs Final Finish bullets in my .25-06 Rem barrel...

Ain't that the truth!

Same here, didn't want to use them in an aftermarket barrel. But with a factory barrel I think those bullets might be the first ones I sent down the tube.
