Meet the replacement for the Hawkeye that I'm selling. Bill Ruger sure could make a nice rifle in the day. It's a Ruger 77 RS in 35 Whelen with exceptional wood - not a mark on it. The bolt looks like it's never been fired and the barrel looks pristine. I think a Whelen should have open sights as a back up and I found this one not to long ago. Can't wait to see how it shoots!

Enjoy

Scott,

Congratulations, she is a beauty!
What glass are you going to mount. IMHO, the VX-3 2.5-8x36mm would be just about perfect.

Scott,

It does qualify as a most lovely rifle. You've done very well on that one.

Scott that looks to be a beautiful rifle 8) I bet it is a real shooter.
Look forward to a range report with photos.

Blessings,
Dan

Wow!

My old .300 Win Mag Ruger 77 did NOT have wood anything like that... Dang... Yes, that's a great looking rifle.

Okay, I'd keep it too! Wow, what a beauty.

Thank you everybody. I've been looking for one like this for over a year. It has a 22" barrel.
Even though I have a few pretty ones - they all hunt!

A successful hunt for a particular rifle makes life very smooth. When that hunt has required an extended period, the success is all the sweeter. Congratulations on a fine looking rifle in a most desirable cartridge (especially around here).
