Use a 7mm08 seater die for .260?

I'm having problems with my Redding comp seater die for my .260 and will be sending it back. In the meantime I'd like to load some 130 accubonds with RL26.
I noticed that both the .260 and 7mm08 use the same Redding seater plug #1067. So I'm thinking that since the brass is virtually identical except for neck diameter, I could use a 7mm08 seater die for my .260 until I get my comp seater back.
Am I correct or off base on this thought?

You could try it safely. I'm not sure about the consistency and runout, etc.

Curious what was wrong with the 260 comp seater?

Something is wrong with the spring as when the case and bullet go up into the seater there's a pop and bullet seats way to far into case. I have it backed out to max length and it still seats it too far into case

Interesting. I bet they'll make it right. Those Redding comp seater dies make life easy. Well worth the money. Super consistent.

It seems the seater plug in the comp die is stuck. Redding now has it, we'll see what they say.
The 7mm08 die with the VLD micrometer seater works well with a .260 though!! Very consistent.
