A few years ago I hadn't even heard of US Optics - now they've earned my respect as one of the best scopes available - perhaps the top dog... Here's why:
Made in the USA, designed here, top quality. Extremely rugged. Extremely precise. Extremely good glass... Custom scopes are the norm for them, each scope is built, one by one, for each customer.
Some time ago they took over production of the fixed 10x used by the Marines on their sniper rifles. It was a Unertl scope, but USO ended up making them eventually. You can still get one, just like the Marines used for decades, if that's what you want. They also offer a wide range of target, tactical and hunting scopes...
Last year I was loaned a USO SN-3 for an extended test. I gave it plenty to do for six months and came away with the distinct impression that it was the best scope I'd ever used. The thing was big, heavy and expensive. Other than that, it was superb! Best glass I've ever seen. Most reliable/repeatable adjustments. I shot the best three hundred yard group of my life with that scope on my rifle. I could shoot in darkness that was beyond the capabilities of my favorite Leupolds... The 3 - 17x power range was perfect and the illuminated mildot reticle worked extremely well in the field or on the range.
Here's a few shots of the scope, mounted on my custom/tactical Rem 700:
They're expensive scopes, but well worth it. Figure $1000 minimum, and $2000+ for one like this. Check 'em out at http://www.usoptics.com
These guys build scopes for the best, and they'll build one for you. Regards, Guy
