A friend of mine bring this rig.-it wouldnt group,
we gave it a vy good clean, changed the bedding, it had a poor
bedding form factory???? ome pics....
with 150gr some vertical stringing changed to 140sierras and winchester
mag primers with a good does of RL22 and BINGO.....
for sure that RL22 works!!!!

Wow, now that is a 7 Mag! Great shooting CZ. Love those big 7's! Scotty

I'd say that the RL22 is working quite well for that rifle. It is amazing to observe the changes wrought by a good cleaning and changes in load.

Dr.mike for sure a good cleaning does miracles. Most of
the rifles brought for custom loading most of the time have
bad cleaning procedures and using "bad solvents".
At first is a checkup of barrel.- good crown, good cleaning,
a good set of trigger, plus a checkup in bedding , add a checkup
in mounts and scope.
but most of the time a good cleaning and thats all, hihi.

will post NOSLER groups, hihi will work with some BT 140gr, and maybe
140gr accubonds, this groups were shot with SIERRAS which is my second
choice always.

I've rescued and resuscitated more than a few rifles that were "shot out" by giving them a thorough cleaning. I remember a Browning 7mm RM that went from 3 inch groups with Nosler Partitions to 0.75 inch following an extended period cleaning the bore.

you said the words-----extended period cleaning------

I remember times in my younger Marine Corps days of scrubbing the rifles so much I thought I was going to wear the rifling out! I still like to keep my bores as clean as possible. Now, most of them clean up quickly with just a few strokes of bore cleaner and copper cleaner. Much nicer than 100 patches to get to bare metal! Scotty

Yeah, I imagine a couple hundred rounds of 5.56 burst fire will grunge up a bore pretty badly.

FOR SURE to mantain the rifle capabilities of those full automatic rifles with the
dust and extremly poor conditions found on Irak or afghanistan for sure its a challenge.
Seen those Remys extremly abused. Scotty tell us about how you had to mantain those
black rifles in the Marines???many malfunctions??

CZ that is very nice! I had a buddy I started loading for who had never shot anything but factory ammo in his Remington 700 MTN rifle in a 270 Win. I told him I would load some up for him. He had some of the Federal high performance loads with the 140 gr. Barnes or something else and I took it out and shot it to see what kind of groups he got with it as he was happy as it was. I shot a 3-shot 5 INCH group at 100 yards! I asked my friend if he had ever cleaned it and he had this rifle for years, and his answer was no! It was a tool and he used it. He abused that poor rifle so much I was just saddened. Needless to say I spent almost a week cleaning his rifle. I took it out of the action and completely cleaned the trigger and safety and gave everything a good wiping down. Then I assembled it in the stock and made sure everything was snugged up there nicely and the bedding was satisfactory. I then checked his scope mounts and went to work on his barrel. Oh MY GOODNESS!  I cannot tell you how badly it looked and how dirty it was. I bet I spent three nights just on the barrel before I was satisfied.

I very easily worked up a load with 59.0 grs of H4831SC, Federal LRM primer, and Winchester cases that were topped with 130 gr. Nosler Partitions. It now shot 3-shot groups of .75 at 100 yards consistently!  MV was 3050 fps. He has since taken deer, antelope, and several elk with it and was astonished at what a difference I had made in his rifle. It was nothing but a little TLC! Sad part is I'm not sure he learned anything from me on this and I bet neither his 270 or his 325 WSM have seen a bore patch since I've loaded for him!

David I see a lot of rifles during a year, and see
a lot of neglected rifles, years of no cleaning, hihi,
Alot of this guys have very good performing rifles
but neglect the cleaning or clean them very
poorly with "walmart products".
It has worked for me to explain a correct procedure
of cleaning all the junk of their rifles.
Have a good quantity of solvent, guides and patches,
and brushes and try to sell then their kit for their
rifle.
Like you said there is only the hope they perform
their routine in a satisfactory manner.
Rifles mean something for one person and for
another like you said just a tool, for me every rifle
I handle is a pride and hope to get the max of each.
In this world every head thinks different hihi and
how clean a rifle must be is something to debate.
Like Dr. Mike said extended period cleaning, wise words.

CZ, we clean our rifles on a daily basis for the most part if they used at all. The M4/HK416 is easily broken down and parts are easily wiped down. The bores are usually just bore snaked if they haven't been fired. If they have been fired, they are brushed/patched out and very lightly oiled. It takes all of about 15-20 minutes to clean an M4. If it is after a range, where we have put 500-1000 rounds through the gun, it takes a little longer, but not too much. Overall, I haven't seen many stoppages as long as the rifles are maintained properly. Machine guns get the same treatment and for the most part are cleaned pretty easily. It is part of a daily regimen, so it seems normal for the most part.

6mm, I would have freaked out to see a rifle that nasty. It would have given me a nervous tick. I can't handle dirty rifles when it takes so little to keep them squared away. My old man is very similar. He is not a very diligent rifle cleaner, but has gotten better over the years. Scotty

My former buddy had an old Mauser '06 that I'm not sure he ever did more than wipe down, and I'm pretty sure it's previous owner did little more. I worked on the bore of that thing for an hour with about four different solvents, and was still getting blue/green gunk out of it when we ran out of daylight. Another buddy has a .22-250 that according to him, has never seen a bore brush... he's afraid to ruin the accuracy. I know I've loaded at least 1000 round of 40 or 55 grain Ballistic Tips for it (plus all the factory loads to get the brass). I'm hoping I can snag it cheap when he finally wastes the barrel on it... hello PacNor SuperMatch SS 26" .22-250 AI...
