Velvet bucks

This one was way up above town near an irrigation reservoir. It's about a 4-mile hike into that lake from where I parked. Nice hike, almost all uphill on the way in. He was with a bachelor group of about a half dozen bucks. Color in this photo is a bit off, but I got that sorted out later.

Great pictures guy.
I got this one this morning from out back. It's unique because this bucks rack is backlit by the sun.

From my treestand last night-hunting elk, no tag for deer this year. And it’s a small buck so not a shooter but glad to see a buck anytime. The grey doe hated the red doe and would kick her and chase her off every time she got close. IMG_0205.jpeg

Have you noticed any changes in their behavior as the season progresses?
Most of the bucks in our area have lost their velvet now. The only changes I've noticed is they no longer hang out together, they pretty much come and go solo now. The rut will be starting soon.
