Hey guys, I'm on the market for the rifle listed above. I prefer the pistol grip, but am otherwise not too picky as far as finish or style. If anyone here has a lead on one of these at a decent price, I'd appreciate the help.

Good luck buddy. I happen to have a pistol grip 358 BLR, but man, I don't think I will be selling it. I will keep my eye out for you though. Scotty

I just traded my BLR for an Anniversary Edition of the Remington .280. Great rifle, though, and I may have one again in the future. I suspect that excepting sheer luck, you should consider ordering a new one as those who have them are loath to part with them.

beretzs, Thanks for rubbing it in. Beautiful rifle you have there.

I was hoping to avoid paying retail, but as DrMike said, it seems that most people that own one would sooner take a swift kick in the nuts than sell it.

I did find one used for sale, but it has the straight stock.

Fotis, I'll check out those links.

Thanks to all and happy holidays.

Fotis, That last link could be a winner, but I'll have to wait a few days to see what happens to the price. Thanks again for your help.

I know where there is a brand new one for 700 and some... It is the straight stocked model though.

Your right though, most are not going to give up a 358 in much of any rifle. I like mine a bunch and the Brownings are very accurate if you can work with the trigger. Scotty

That is the one I would get. That is a steal, it will not go up. Not to popular because people do not know what they are missing!

The pistol grip version has a reputation (undeserved, in my estimate) of splitting easily. It is a handsome rifle, however. I wouldn't hesitate to buy one, though mine was the straight stock version.

Being a guy that works with wood, I can see how that might be a potential hazard and I thank you for bringing that to my attention. But, my wrist really likes the angle of a pistol grip. I would be willing to take that chance.

That is absolutely a steal. If the price hangs in that range, I will have to bid on it in the next few days.

My BLR 358 is the straight version, which comes up better for me (like a shotgun) for the quick shots that this brush buster was meant for.

You might also check Cabela's website in their gun library. I bought my BLR and a Savage .325 WSM (both used) from them the same day but two different stores. They are easy to work with although you are back to paying retail and not an auction. I got my BLR for $595 plus shipping which I didn't think was too bad.

Good Luck!!

Ron

Man, that is a great price for any BLR!

Ron,

You robbed them! I'm surprised you didn't receive a visit from some of your colleagues.

Actually, Mike, that was their list price. Mine is not pristine and has some honest hunting scars, but it shoots fantastic.

Thanks for twisting my arm and enticing me to buy it!

Ron, did he really twist your arm?

I know that is what I tell the Commander in Chief - HOUSE when a new one shows up... I do know it doesn't hold water, at all yet though. Hoping it'll stick eventually though.

Hold it, now; I'm being charged with a deed for which I can only incidentally and tangentially assume responsibility. I merely addressed the positive address of the cartridge and the rifle. The rest was, as they say, history.

I wouldn't buy a BLR in 358W if you care about your other rifle's feelings. Mine has a way of grabbing my attention all to easily whenever it's time to head out into the woods.

CC,

That is a "sho' 'nuff" handsome rifle. It has some real character in the wood. Very pretty. And, my condolences to your other rifles.
