Wanted Rem 7600 in 35 Whelen

you can get a Ruger Hawkeye in 35 whelen from Grice.

it's been a few years since i've been to Grice but hopefully one of my trips back to PA will entail it

you can also check: pennswoods.net people there may or may not be willing to work with you through their FFL since it's generally more a local central PA type of site but worth checking into

I actually got a NIB one last night!!!

That idea of a good deep woods gun, is a good one, I have owned more than one Savage 99 featherweight, in .358 and found them to work perfectly for real snowy conditions and thick woods, I bought 3 left over barrels from the factory years ago , and used to buy 99s in 308W and just put one of my barrels on. But someone always comes along with too much $$$ ,and down the road they go!, lol Last one I had ,a guy wanted it sooooooo bad he traded me even, his fathers old Fox Sterlingworth Upland Special that was about minty...............english straight stock n twin ivory beads........ Anyway congrats on your new purchase, and Good luck with your new pump Fotis!

JD. It is getting a 2x7 Nikon

Perfect!
The 225 gr PT at 2700 fps should hammer any elk in its path. The 250 gr PT at 2550 fps will take them out from stem to stern.

It would be one heckuva awesome woods gun in most places. Chances are it'll be really accurate as well. Those 7600 Whelens always seem to shoot well from what I've seen from previous owners.

I was in Grice gun shop yesterday . no 35 whelens on the used rack . I'd say there are 10 - 15 rem pumps of different ages , on the rack . most are 30.06 , a few 270's . one was a black synthetic , all others were wood .
