Well, I "think" Ive found my load. After increasing the charge weight half a grain from the previous charge weight it seemed to really like this combo. Load consists of Hornady brass, IMR-4895, WLRP, 165 gr Nosler Solid Base bullet and 2.800. coal. Temp was 80 degrees today and sunny. The only thing left to do is to Chrono the load. I intend to do that maybe Saturday afternoon. Turkey season opens in the morning.

You are right. Im not really concerned about how fast but inquiring minds want to know! LOL Where I hunt my shots rarely exceed 125 yds with the vast majority around 65-70 yds.

Now go get a gobbler I did. Called a big ol Tom in for my grandson about 8:40 am EST. 21 lbs, 1 inch spur, 11 in beard

My 308 Win loved that powder too.I used a Winchester case,WLRM primer,45.0grs of IMR-4895,168gr Nosler Ballistic Tip,2815fps.My rifle does have a 26" barrel.The 168gr NBT is just a little longer than the 165gr NBT,you would think the 3grs wouldn't make that much difference,but when I was comparing the two with the same charge in my 30-06,the 168gr was 30fps slower.
