One thing if it was a smokeless ML , they went and designed their load data around Blackhorn 209. Close to $200/lb powder that is scarce at best leaves me scratching my head.

They do offer discounts to certain groups of people, so with a first responder discount, the price comes down to more like $2300.

For that I'd use proven components like a Brux barrel. It may not be much cheaper to build your own but knowing what components are used would make me feel a lot better about spending 2K plus for a muzzleloader.

I'm sorry but these are getting so far from the traditional muzzleloader that I can't get excited about them. There are several custom ones on the market that are even worse. They are more like modern rifles less the use of a cartridge case to hold the projectile and powder.
