Fascinating story found in the New York Post. Seems a cyclist "hit a bear" while riding in the Seymore Demonstration Forest in the Vancouver, BC area. It makes for quite a story.

The bear didn't dash off into the forest for long. He was soon back on the edge of the road feeding on the new grasses. The cyclist went to hospital.

Yikes! I am glad he didn't get hurt worse. That is a story to tell the grandkids. I wonder if the story will show up in a cycling magazine.

Bears are solid critters for sure.
Most may be startled and run into the bush as traffic passes, but will usually be back out after a few minutes, continuing about there business. Appaerntly the bear was unphased by the collision.

Of all the ways to get hurt on a bicycle, collision with a bear is a new one, but he’ll alway have a story to tell. He’s lucky the bear didn’t take it personally and take it out on him.

Came close to hitting one with my motorcycle a couple of times. Once Mama was on the Triumph with me. That was a little more excitement than she wanted.
