Since the Flu A hit our family this Christmas, it was pretty quiet around here. My son and I slipped out Christmas morning looking for sheds or at least see if any have started dropping.
What we found in our part of Idaho, was 4 bull Moose all packing their “bone”.
3 Whitetail … make that 4 bucks and one right side antler was dropped. We watched him and another buck skipping thru the brush in a clearcut for about 300 yards just chuckling and chanting “Come on! Hook that horn on a branch” “Come on Please “ Laughing as they were sneaking away. No luck! It would have been pretty cool to see it drop!
In years past we’ve had antlers starting to drop by now but maybe the lack of cold weather this season?? As long as we don’t have snow we will keep checking. The disadvantage is the “whole” mountain is clear and the deer are spread out. Lots of miles to look for drops. Often in the past our canyon is filling up with deer about now. Not yet this year. It is absolutely full of Turkeys. On the deck in the bird feeder. Making a mess of the place.
