last fall i swapped bullets with someone in another forum. ended up with 200 grains Partition to use in my 300 ultra.
i found time to load a few last weekend. since i use 92 gr of retumbo for my 200 AccuBond load
and since i tried up to 95 gr without any pressure sign i tought it safe to load the Partition with 92 gr and the same oal.
so i shot a 3 shot group with the AccuBond first to confirm everything was right. and was glad to see a nice 0.58" group.
next i fired a 3 shot group with the Partition to my surprise it shot in 0.54"
looks like load developement is cheap with this one
but best of all they went to the same poi as the AccuBond. had i aim the same target for both groups i would have ended with a group .95" wide and .15" high or so.

velocity average 2975 with the Partition and 3000 with the AccuBond. not full rum velocity but groups open to 1.25" with hotter loads, and i'll take 1/2 inch group over speed anytime.

thank nosler for 2 suberb hunting bullets.

"i'll take 1/2 inch group over speed anytime."

I agree with this whole heartedly! There are those that get 3200 with the 200 AB and still shoot under an inch, but the 300 Ultra I loaded up for went 3150 with 180 AB's into 3/4". The owner loved the gun and load as it kicked like a 300 WM.

Accuracy is paramount in hunting situations. Holes through the boiler are more likely to put game in the freezer than velocity through the gut.

Great shooting! That RUM is a cool cartridge! Maybe Big Red will make a play for it! Scotty
