This is a R P brass factory load. .243. My buddy has been testing bullets from factory ammo and this one shot lights out compared with the rest. Trouble is he does not have the original box they came in. He said the ammo is from the '80's. Any guesses on what bullet it is?ImageUploadedByTapatalk1442024182.765314.jpg

I vote for the Core lokt and it was/is a really good bullet. My wife shot a nice 8 point buck back around 1980 using a .243 and Remington factory Core Lokt's. The buck was quartering to her and she shot him in the point of the shoulder. DRT!
When I was field dressing the buck I found the bullet under the skin in the offside hindquarter. It looked like those bullets we see in magazine adds. Perfect.
Remington called them "The deadliest mushroom in the woods."

Thank you all. I thought core lokt but it also looked like a modern day fusion which I think is a speer deep curl.

I agree that its a CL and a great bullet at that! Thanks for your help!

Could it be a Speer Grand Slam? Right or wrong, I have the idea Remington produced ammunition with the GS bullet back then.

I agree with JD, 80 grain PSPCL.... if you've got a couple extra pull the bullet and that'll help confirm everyones suspicions !
