We now know that looting high-end stores--stealing luxury purses or expensive sneakers--will soothe hurt feelings.

We now know that the destruction of private property will assuage hurt feelings.

We now know that entering a church when more than twelve people are present is a danger to your health. However, going to Walmart when several hundred people are present is safe.

We now know that the use of cannabis is essential to a healthy lifestyle, but dining out in a restaurant will ensure that you die a horrible death.

We now know that providing liquor is an essential service, but elective surgeries must be restricted to ensure there are enough hospital beds for an influx of sick people that could be coming at any moment.

We now know that the elderly must be locked away in contained areas with a high percentage of infected people surrounding them, but their families must be kept from seeing them.

We now know that those who govern our nation are IDIOTS!

We now know that the political class is full of crap.

No, we have our own idiots in Canada. I suppose the virus of liberal thought may have jumped the border and contaminated the US. Michigan and New York appear to have especially hard hit by idiocy.

Some weeks past, I went to the post office to pick up the mail for the church. A woman was standing beside the door to ensure that no more than three people at a time would enter the post office. The mail boxes are physically separated by about thirty feet from the windows. I assured her that I was only picking up mail. She held her ground. I made myself one of her favourites instantly when I said, "The big problem with our country is idiots interpreting rules dreamed up by idiots." She still won't speak to me. I'm not certain for her silence.
