What's the straight dope on Accubond Long Range performance?

I'm of the thought that considering they're a bit softer than the regular AB that they just might make a good bullet for the 7x57. I'd kind of like to use one of thither I have on a cow elk next month. So far they've proved to be a bit finicky regarding seating depth.

I haven't been able to get them to shoot with any type of good consistency out of several rifles. Regular accubonds always seem to shoot without much trouble.

Lot of good info here. I've contemplated getting some 30 Cal 190 ABLR 2nds from SPS to try in my 300RUM, but I keep thinking why???? The 200ABs have performed exceptionally well, every animal they have hit has gone down quickly. Why mess with something that works? Plus, where I hunt and shot all of my elk & bull moose, the shots are from in your face to maybe 200 yds.

here's a post i just put in bullet test.

since it's related to this thread also, i just copy it here too.
if the mod feel like it's redundant they can erase it.

i had the chance to test the 150 ABLR out of my 7wsm on 2 different bucks this fall.

the first buck was a shot at 17 yards facing straight toward me and feeding. i aimed for center of the spine
at a height where if the bullet continued inside the would be center of the chest.
the bullet went all the way in and exited the ribcage behind the left shoulder.( it must have deflected somehow??)
awesome penetration for the tough impact it endured!!!

the second shot was at 310 yard at a quartering away buck. the shot entered the last ribs on the right side and exited behind the shoulder on the left side (5th-6th rib from the front)
the entrance side showed large area bloodshot meat (rib meat only) meaning expansion was fast and explosive. inside damage was awesome with very large wound channel.
1.5'' in and out holes.
the damage done and penetration depth on both count make me think Nosler scored big with this bullet.
it looks like it will give the explosive reaction of the Ballistic tip i regard as perfect for quick kills.
and the penetration of bonded bullet needed on tough shots.

the 310 yards buck in Manitoba

the 17 yards buck in Quebec

Both are beautiful bucks. Congratulations on quite a successful season.
