In on this one abit late, but I agree with the H4831 and RL 22 suggestings.
I too use to think going with the faster powders with shorter barrels made logical sense, but,,,,.
When I really got back into loading for my specialty pistols, with barrels ranging from 15 to 17" in length, I found that isn't always the case. The slower powders gave me more muzzle blast, but often the slow powders gave me the best accuracy and velocity.
