All,
I have the RCBS primer seater, but am looking to get another. This one has reasonable feel, but before I buy, what do you recommend? I load mainly magnum rifles.
thanks,
Hardpan

I use the RCBS Universal Hand Priming Tool. Works great and fits the large diameter cases like the RUMs and WSMs.

For the longest time I used the priming arm on my Lee Turret press. After multiple times of the primer flipping over and getting seated backwards, I stopped using it.

I have heard stories about it breaking after a few hundred uses. Any problems with the handles?

Mine hasn't busted yet and I have loaded around 3000 rounds with it so far

I started out with the RCBS that came with my press. It was ok, but I found that I prefer the front of the press to be open. So I bought the Lee Autoprime. I've used it for about 6-7 years and have no complaints.

Lee Autoprime.
It's never busted in at least 15 years. I havn't tried the RCBS.
The RUMs are a little big but thanks to about 30 seconds with a dremmel tool it works just fine. Has for 6 years. I don't think you can go wrong either way.
Good reloading

I've been using the RCBS Hand Priming Tool since it came out about 12-15yrs ago. Works great, uses the same shellholders as the press, and has great feel. I haven't figured out yet how to seat a primer too deep using this tool.

Two Lee Auto-primes, one of the older models of the RCBS priming tool, and one of the newer RCBS universal priming tools. I love the Lee Auto-primes, but for WSMs, RUMs and Lazzeronis I'm compelled to use RCBS. Here, the universal priming tool excels. It is rapidly becoming my "go-to" priming tool.

I`m on my 3rd Lee priming tool. The 1st was a "thumb" tool from the mid 60s they then came out with the auto prime. I`ve no idea how many rds they are good for, but its a bunch. At the price and how well they work I figure they are worth replacing every 15 or so yrs.

Lee autoprime, except for the RUM cases, where I use the RCBS primer in my press.

Maybe they have improved the LEE. I haven't used one in close to twenty years, but the old ones didn't hold up well at all for me.

I have a couple of the lee autoprime tools. One each set up for large and small primers. I like them(do not own a RUM) but you have to "follow directions" and lube them. If you do not they will not last and I can tell you this from personall expierence. . I use my press for 50BMG primers but considering something else for them also.

Wow! no Hornady. I guess I'm the only one here using it although I do own a Lee Autoprime also.

I used to use the RCBS, then I bought 2 K&M tools. One is setup for sm primers and the other for lg primers. The cadillac of priming tools is the Sinclair, but it's a little pricey.

Glad I'm not the only one who uses a K&M got one set up for each case head size. I leave the Sinclair set up for the 6ppc I was going to use it for a 22ppc but hassle to readjust the shims.
