I am just curious and would like to know from all the guys that have 7mm WSM, which primers do you use and why, in most loading books it says to use mag primers, in fact in the nosler #6 it calls for WLRM primers, but i have heard that regular large rifle primers would work best. If that is true than can someone please explain why. I am planning on loading 140 grn AccuBond for my 7mm WSM with either RL19, IMR4350, or RL17

I have not loaded for the 7 WSM but I have had very good results with the Federal GM215M primer in all magnums that I have loaded for.

Unless I'm hunting in very cold weather or shooting ball powder, I use large rifle primers. The shorter powder column does not require a magnum primer. Magnum primers won't hurt, but they will generate somewhat higher pressures.

I run CCI250's in my 7WSM loads. I have necked my LR primers down to either CCI250's for magnum and larger cases and CCIBR2's for the rest of them. I have had good luck with the CCI250's in the 7WSM, but I wouldn't be shy to try the plain ol LR primers.

i also use CCI250 in mine.
by the way, RL17 is not recommended for the 7wsm because
it reaches max pressure with less than 88% of case capacity.
i was told it's not good.
and this powder does not come up in the list of powders from quickload,in your other post.

I also use CCI 250 GM in my 7mmm Mag and in my .340 Bee. This prmer with IMR 7828 SSC gives me good accuracy and results in both rifles.
