Why no love for Hybrid 100 V?

Man, I never get that lucky. Around here, you can still buy some Hybred 100V because they do not know what it is still but that is about all that you can buy for powders.

I have 140gr AB's siiting on V-100 hybred in my 270win work up loads. Just waiting for spring and say 60 degree weather to see how my rifle likes it.

I have settled on the 140gr PT and AB as my 270win bullet (s). Which ever shoots best. And V-hybred simply because it burns between H4350 and H4831. Should be a fine powder as is a 140gr bullet in the 270win.

I've seen the same thing as it is one of the few powders my wife could find for me on a trip to tri cities. I use it in my 284 and am working on loads for the 6.5 creedmoor with it. LOVE====>H100V :mrgreen:

Let me know how it works in the creedmoor, Been thinking of trying some in mine.
Right now I use H4350 with 130gr Bergers for target/varmints

I'll post some pictures this weekend. I've got two more load progressions with 100V and 140 custom comps to try out. The first one looks great on paper at 100yds, but was higher ES/SD than I like. It was the first load(3 shots) through a clean bore so not sure how that effects consistency, but the later groups I shot that day did become more consistent (different powders though too).

RL-17 may edge it out, we'll see.

I was giving some consideration to trying 100v in my .257 Roberts and a 110 AccuBond. With the assistance of a very helpful member here (FOTIS) I got quick load read out for the bob with a pressure that I believed was safe with good brass and a stout bolt action rifle. My thought was that several of the newer powders i.e. 100v would be able to push a 110 near 3100 fps. My assumption about 100v proved wrong. The 100v just did get past 3000 fps. I was very surprised to see Norma MRP on the top with 3126 fps. Reloder 17 came in next at 3097. So I chose not to get into another powder.

I have a full action FN chambered in .257 Roberts with 24 inch barrel, which I can load long (full length magazine and long throat). I am getting 3160 fps with the Nosler 110 grain AccuBond factory loads without excess pressure signs. I have loaded up some Hybred 100V loads for the .257 with the 110 AccuBond which should equal the Nosler loads. I just need to get well and get some range time with my chrono.

I have touted this powder for a few years, it is a great powder in the 243/6mm Remmy . I also am using it with a 165 gr AB in the 300 whinny . I have has very good results with it.

Wow, according to Hodgdon, I can go to 46.0 grains of Hyb 100V with the 115 Partition at only 46,000 PSI pressure. These two charts surely dont agree! Methinks caution is advised!

Yeah, I would say so Charlie. As you know, both are only just guides, your rifle will let you know where it wants to be in the end anyhow.
