I figured since I used a Nosler bullet, I would post the video here.

Winchester 30-30 at 575 Yards

Believe it or not, if I would have left the sight set at the setting I set it last night, I would have hit it on the first shot. I was thinking it was further than it was when I was setting the target up.

I also thought I missed by more than I did at first, so I adjusted down too much for the second shot. Viewing the shot in the camera display is a bit deceiving.

I am getting better at this peep.

Specifics:
Winchester 94AE Ranger, 30-30
Nosler 150gr ballistic tip boat tail, BC .435, (Loaded singly directly into the chamber.)
CCI 200 primer
Varget, 32.5gr
Winchester case shot 19 times, annealed twice

The drop was over 13 feet.
The bullet was traveling at about 1225fps when it hit.

I have seen all your videos. Some incredible stuff!

BTW love the feline domesticus. I have 2 myself!
Hector and Paris (Troy)!

Some fine shooting with that lever gun. They are capable of far more than most people imagine. Thanks for sharing the video.

My cat just loves shooting. I tried to tell him him stay home since there was a lot of walking involved, but he was having none of that.

That is the cutest cat picture!

Thanks!

There are so many myths about lever actions; and especially the 30-30, it is the most misunderstood rifle.

Thank you!

FWIW, either of my Model 94s chambered in .356 Win will shoot 0.75 MOA with hand loads. In the field, they shoot better than I can. I've certainly handled some 30-30s that shot surprisingly tight groups.

Same here, my little 94 30-30 is pretty darned accurate and it only wears a little peep sight on it.

All right, where's the cat? You can't be shooting out there without the cat.

LOL! It was only the dog that time. She takes-up a different position to guard each range session, so sometimes I don't know where she is.

Most people just can't believe a lever action can shoot well; even owners of them. Mine shoots as well as my 30-06s, it is just a bit more susceptible to wind. But just like any firearm, it is simply wind estimation and math.
