My local stores have both Winchester and Remington brass for the .300 WM, I was curious as to what you fella's thought was more consistent and of better quality. Any info would be appreciated. I'll be purchasing 200 pieces of this within the next week for the upcoming hunting season! Thanks!

I've had good luck with both brands and found both brands need some attention prior to reloading. I usually use Winchester brass simply because that is what is available here local. Just my .02

In my experience, Remington brass tends to be less malleable and more brittle. Consequently, I prefer Winchester when given the choice between these two sources of brass.

My favorite, that I have on hand, is Black Hills Match brass in .300 Win Mag.
With that said, given a choice between Winchester and Remington I'd opt for the Winchester. I used both Winchester and Remington last year in my 25-06 and the quality of the Winchester brass was better between the two brands to my inexperienced eye.
The quality of the Black Hills brass is quite noticeable.

Winchester - The brass has a lower defect rate. I see way too many deformed/defective cases in a bag of Remington.

Plus 1 on the above. Right now while brass is difficult to find I would take either one in a heart beat.

Either one is good. I've loaded far more than I can remember of both and not really found an issue with either brand. I prefer RP for some cartridges, and Win for others. I'd probably lean towards Win for the 300WM.

Thanks fella's, I've been using R&P for the last few years and had a lot of defects and cases breaking unexpectedly. From what it sounds like, however, Winchester is the way to go. I will pick up the brass tomorrow. Thanks again!

I have had quality issues with Remington brass. The last purchase that I made of 20 Remington cases, 2 cases were cracked and unusable. I have never had that issue with Winchester brass.
