Is this a good stock?

From my impressions it is flimsy. The foreend will touch the barrel with little pressure applied to it. It feels good in the hands but if it is that cheaply made what is the rest look like under the action? Is it rigid enough for hunting trips or will it not hold up. The stock does not look like it does much for rifle accuracy. I have no doubt that you could shoot one or two shots good but are extreme temperature differences really going to change the point of impact enough to warrent a stock exchange?

Please let me know what your impressions of the stock are and if you have had accuracy problems that could be caused by this stock.

The stock is far from great but not near as bad as the 10 lb? trigger in my little experience with my buddy's in a 7wsm.

The slightly older M70 with controlled feed is a much better way to go imo.

I have a Winchester Super Shadow Model 70 chambered in 270 WSM. It is a great rifle and that is a good stock. Mine is the SS model with a camo stock.

I have used that rifle to shoot coyotes, wild hogs, deer, black bear, etc.
The rifle handles well and is a joy to shoot, hardly any recoil at all. I have taken game off hand and off of shooting sticks, never any problem with point of impact changes, etc.

My dad has the same rifle in 7mm WSM and has hunted with it a lot as well. No complaints at all with the rifle or the stock. I wish I had a dollar for every wild hog that rifle has taken.

I do not think you would have any problems with these rifles. Having taken mine out of the stock to adjust the trigger, I did not see any problems with the bedding or the way the stock is made.
