Zeiss Diatal C 3-9x36

For those that have had or used the above scope, is it better, worse, or equal to the 3-9X40 conquest?

Is the Diatal C made in Germany? I was told it was basically their high end optics in a 1" tube.

They are an older model that was the direct predessessor of the Zeiss Diavari C. Most of them are fixed power scopes or 3-9x36. I had one back in the early 1980's. They are fine scopes. They only difference between the Diatel and Diavari would be coating technology. I believe that glass quality is Tessar* and is close. They are a German scope, tough and accurate just maybe not quite as bright at dusk as the new Diavari's.
