Grizzly charges after a kayaker

Close encounters like these must be taken under consideration to watch your back while hiking, fishing and hunting.

I saw this on the local news last evening. I've fished the Elaho on numerous occasions. My first reaction was that the Ministry of the Environment had always insisted that there were no grizzlies in that area. However, I have video of a grizzly that I almost shot on one occasion from that area. Also, on fishing trips throughout that region, I've found ample spoor to convince me that grizzlies have crossed into those valleys. It is an exciting video, to be certain. The news cast did cite one of the rafters that they saw a dead elk on the shore. They felt the bear was not attacking, but rather defending his food source. Still, had to be rather exciting for the kayaker.

That would add more than a little adrenaline to your leisurely kayak trip :shock:.
