What have you taken deer with?

Just curious what different bows and guns we have used to take deer with. As for me I have used compound bow, crossbow (yesterday, doe, first time crossbow, was Christmas present) cap lock, flintlock, inline muzzle loaders, center fire rifles and shotgun with sabot-slug. Maybe a pistol sometime would be on the bucket list. Dan.

I took my first deer with a 410 slug, since then i have used a 30-30 both single and lever, 223 bolt, 25-06 bolt, and 260 bolt.
I have a few rifles and pistols in the safe I'd like draw some blood with if the opportunity arises.

20-gauge slug took my first one. Went through a spell where I killed quite a few with a bow. The list in rifles would be 308, 6mm, 30-06, 35 Remington, 348 Winchester. Hope to add a few more to that list in both rifles and cartridges. Also got a flintlock I haven't even shot yet.

Also, I am of a distinguished heritage of ancestral line of hunters. I have an uncle who killed one with a #8 cast iron skillet.

I think that's all of them?

That's quite a range of bullet weights, from 55 to 405 grains... All of 'em worked just fine. Shoot 'em where it counts!

My first was with a 20 gauge slug then a few with a old hand-me-down 38-55. I saved up and bought. Ruger 77 270 that I used for a few years then traded for a transmission for an old CJ-7 from there it was a REM 742 30-06, a couple different savages in 308 and 300 win, then i got into bows and used a bear whitetail II, and a Hoyt super slam, finally into crossbows, percussion cap and inline muzzleloaders. I mostly used the savage 308 up until I got a model 70 in 280. Used that for a while and the last few years it’s been a 7-08, 6.5 PRC and Grendel. I know I’ve forgot a few.
