I know that the removal of suppressors from the 1934 Federal Firearms Law is in the Big Beautiful Bill and caught a glimpse of a heading regarding this but nothing more lately. Anyone one if more information concerning this is available. Haven't dug too deep. Hope the restriction of having to acquire the tax stamp is removed.

Well, If I have read correctly the removal of suppressors from the 1934 firearms act survived the senate version of the BBB and was passed. Now back to the house. If it survives there, then that $200 tax will be removed. Hope it is.

Fingers crossed 🤞
This is long overdue. The Hollywood Effect certainly hasn't been our friends with all their wisper quite shooting scenes.

I just watched the original Jumanji last night. The hunter was shooting a suppressed rifle and nobody could hear him attempting to make shots at the main character, ha ha!

I really hope these get de-regulated. If they do I bet my dad is going to want to slap a suppressor on his Tavor if he can get the OK from my mom.

All gun laws are unconstitutional.

I should be able to own fully automatic weapons, suppressors, and any other implement of war I desire if I have the coinage.

I think it is a real shame that you can't own open bolt firearms because they were labeled too easy to make full auto. They are full auto by nature, but can be made semi-auto, and the gov didn't like how simple it was to restore the full auto feature. Not only are open bolt, straight blow back SMGs possible to make very cheaply, they are also some of the most reliable guns we have ever made. The WWII era Sten gun was so easy to produce that the British had toy makers manufacturing it and the Sterling was about as tough as any gun I've ever heard of.

I believe in the final Senate version just the $200 tax stamp was removed.
That what I heard as well. The sandbagged us again. Some elected BUREAUCRAT woman call the parlimentarian who go the job in 2012 through Harry Reid, stated that the way the law was written violated the Constitution. She's also blocked most if not all the tax cuts in the BBB.

This Senate Parliamentarian is a woman given the position by Harry Reid back in 2012 and she's held that position ever since

Do you know why there is a parliamentarian?

The removal of the $200 tax stamp is what I was interested in.
I would happily continue to pay the fee, I would prefer the registering went away. It took me years to get a can because I didn't want anything I owned of that nature registered and tracked. It was finally my buddy that mentioned how many pistols and rifles I have bought.. that it's already too late anyway. So I bought one.. then another one. I only have the two still to this day though. If tracking goes away, I'll be buying caliber specific cans for sure!

Suppressors should be over the counter. It's a safety thing. If there is misuse then add penalties at a criminal or civil trial.

However, do the legislation right. Craft a good bill, use all the support available and get it done. It seems like there is as much support and momentum for things 2A right now as anytime, why not this? Unless Trump is just blowing smoke on being a 2A supporter.

I do know why and when it was created.

It was created under one of the most unconstitutional presidents this nation has ever had and a real Machiavellian piece of fecal matter that extended the Great Depression by his policies. The democrats held the majority at the time and created the position to help ensure that even when they weren’t in power that they had a method to retain what power they could under the guise of “fairness”.

Another capitulation.

I wish I was surprised but I’m not. Politicians are pretty useless. Until we the people rise up and strike down the tyranny unconstitutional laws will remain. Striking down tyranny takes blood and death.

Of course we the people aren’t going to rise up in any meaningful way as we can’t even get people to agree on where to go eat dinner. Since I’m not willing to be a martyr I’m just going to sit here and eat my oatmeal.
