Anyone bought one of these and have firsthand knowledge, use with it? Looked at and held one, stainless version yesterday and it felt good. Likes the looks of the two tone on their website better.

Yep, I had to go take a look too. A lot of good features for 800 to 900 bucks. I like that two tone with the bob tail grip and it doesn't have the extra firing pin block. Optic ready also.

Was reading about them recently...
When I bought my first Kimber 1911 (45ACP), I went with a version with that same rounded grip at the bottom, and found that it reacted differently in my hand during recoil. I didn't care for it. DrMike bought it from me, and my current Kimber (10mm) has the regular straight grip, and is much better in my XL hands. But this just my preference.
Your preference and/or experience may like the different grip.

The first bobtail 1911 I held a few years ago I didn't care much for the feel of it either. This Gen 2 Kimber feels different that I think might be related to the thicker grips, maybe? Felt good whatever the reason. Now the thinking process is kicking in :LOL:

Hey, I appreciate your support. :D The thought process is thinking maybe one of these in 9mm. Make a good range toy, cheaper to shoot, easier on the hands plus I have a couple of other 9mm and 45acp that serve as ccw or range toys also. Never had a full size 1911 in 9mm. What would you guys get?

I do have some 1911's full sized 45, 2 different 10mm's, and EMPs in 9mm and 40, and like the thought of adding a full sized 1911 9mm for the range, I'm leaning towards the commander sized.

I might have overlooked it but didn't see it listed in a commander size 4 1/4 in barrel. that would be a good one. Maybe they will offer it later. I have a SA Range Officer Elite Champion commander size 9mm so was kind of thinking of a full size 9mm. Not in a rush:giggle:
