Load development on Wednesday at Dan Ekstrom’s house with a Borden Alpine clone XP-100 center-grip, McMillan stock, Leupold Mark 5HD, Dell trigger built by Michael DeLoach at Nine Run Gun, chambered in 7mm SAUM with the 160 grain Barnes LRX (Norma brass, H-4350, and Redding Comp dies).
3-Shot group at 100 yards off of a portable bench. Extreme Spread was around 9 if I remember correctly.
MV may wind up closer to 2660ish. 15.9” Brux 8T barrel, and Holland brake.
Looking forward to future drop configurations at distance.
Big Shout Out to Dan for his help!
Last target is 11-shots, all different powder charges in 1/2 grain increments.
Yes, I recognize that this is just one three-shot group, but it still put a smile on my face.

A group like that would keep me grinning for a long time! :D
Congrats!
Looks like you should have some great adventures in SA with that hand cannon!
Looking forward to hearing about your adventure. (And the photos.)

Thanks Guys!
I am very pleased.
I also did some load development with my 6.5-284 rear-grip with the 142 LRAB’s.
I need to redo two loads.
The odd thing is is that the load between those two was not good, so I don’t know if it’s just the inconsistency of that bullet or maybe I messed something up in my Powder Measure. If they become too finicky, I will move to the LRX, Scirocco or AB.

Ernie, what powder are you using for the 6.5 x 284? Try the H4831sc if you haven't tried it, it plain shoots great in mine.
The ABLR bullet was fussy in my 7 Mag when I tested it long ago, switched it to AB and Scirocco and never looked back. My 6.5 x 284 loves the 143 ELD-X and H4831sc. Wish you luck on your endeavor with your 6. 5 x 284

I used H-4350 in the 7mm SAUM and the 160 grain LRX
With my first 7 SAUM I used H-1000.

H-4350 has been my go to powder for short barreled 6.5-284's since the late 90's

I understand why, H4350 is quite faster than the H8431sc in the shorter barrels giving better velocity and performance.
